Chittorgargh is hill fort situated around 120 km from the city of Udaipur and 56 km. from Bhilwara on NH 76. The best option to travel to the fort is to hire a cab from Udaipur. There are many taxi services and bus services from Udaipur and this is the best option. Taxis from Udaipur charge around Rs 2500 to the fort. State owned and private buses are much cheaper and can be hailed from the Udaipur Bus Terminus. The nearest railway station is at Chittaurgarh on the Udaipur- Ajmer section and Udaipur-Kota section. Nearest Airport is the Dabok (for Udaipur) about 90 km. away.
From the Bus Stand/Railway Station or foot hills of the Chittorgargh, there are auto rickshaws available to the top of the hill. Auto rickshaws for a full tour of the fort town can be hailed. They charge around Rs 300 to 500. Since it is not possible to walk around the fort on foot the best option is to hire the auto rickshaws. There are no separate night fares for auto rickshaws.
Taxi Another option for travelers is to hire the taxis from Udaipur and use the same ones to travel in and around the fort.
On Foot The best option to visit the actual fort itself is to walk around the place. The numerous doorways and archways can be witnessed only on foot.
